Fishing Report
We have had several trips out everyday lately. Even though most of the time water has been running 1-2 generators, you just need to take different approaches and you can still be very successful.
Yesterday morning they had no water running till about 10 am. It did not matter what color or fly we threw, they were hitting on anything. Even after the water came up our group of clients still were hammering them. We had a hard time getting everyone to quit. They ended up going for 3 hours longer than they originally scheduled. I can’t really say that one fly did better than another at all. We used prismatic emergers, Midges in black and brown, scud patterns in gray or brown, cracklebacks (when the water was off), and even some sculpins.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to use fluorocarbon tippets if you want a better success rate. It is worth the extra expense.
