Fishing Report
We sure have had our fair share of high winds lately which can add some more challenges for fly fishers, plus they have been running 2-3 generators during the day for almost 3 weeks now. Most are fishing the outlets, using a brown san juan worm trailed by a scud or our new personal favorite: an ice shrimp* (*our newest hot fly pattern only tied here). Also fishing some midges in 18’s & 20’s in black or gray, or the Adam’s bug midge. Scud colors have been gray or sowbug, in smaller sizes.
Drifting from a boat is always a good plan “B” when water is running. In fact almost all of our guide trips have been in a boat. Drifting we have been using a red san juan followed by an ice shrimp or scud. We have been also using a new sculpin pattern also with good success. Our trips have produced several fish, even on the last few colder mornings.
Right now Table Rock is about 1 foot over power pool, and Beaver is 1/2 foot low. Beaver has ran quite a bit lately too, also contributing to the generation of Table Rock Dam.

April 11th, 2009 at 7:10 amThose ice shrimp, and the Adams bug really work! I was down there and Adam from Anglers and Archery fixed me up with those flies and I went out and caught (and released) five fish over twenty inches!
Thanks Adam!
