Fishing Report

What a difference a few days have made. As of last Thursday (Sept. 17th) we started to see good numbers of browns practically overnight! Sizes are mostly 20″ and smaller, with a hand full of larger ones, scattered around. The beginning of the run has definitely started.

Right now there is 4 generators running at the Dam. They started out with 2 this morning. It did run all weekend too. But we have had a soggy week, and it really poured Saturday. The lake level is posted at 916.1.

Fishing Report

Hello everyone….The rainbow spawn is practically here!!! It’s still about a week before it gets full blown, but the fishing has seen a great big improvement with larger fish showing up almost all of the sudden. For those only waiting for the browns to show up you will be looking to be here in about 3 more weeks. We have HIGH hopes for this year’s spawning run! The water has been off about everyday but it has been running usually by 3 p.m. Fly selection should include typical taneycomo patterns such as scuds, eggs, san juans, and chamois worms, but woolly buggers, hares ear soft hackles, south platte brassies, cracklebacks, and prismatic emergers. Sculpins also have been producing fish but if your looking to produce big numbers I would just concentrate on fishing cracklebacks, s.p. brassies, scuds, and chamois worms…

Hope to see everybody on the water SOON!!! Tight Lines :)
