Fishing Report

Well, starting last Saturday they have been shutting off the generators, occasionally. Sat. they had it off till 10am, Sunday it was off, Monday they ran 1 generator, and today, Tuesday it was off till 7am when they blew 1 horn, and other one shortly after.
There sure hasn’t been a lot of people fishing either, I guess the word isn’t out yet. Earlier this morning it was a fish on nearly every cast! We were picking up quite a few on dries, and streamers. After the water came on we switched to Scuds and midges.

I am anticipating a great rest of the week and weekend for fishing. So hope you can get away and enjoy it, we’ll save you a spot!

Just a reminder, we will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
We are truely thankful to all of you that have supported us this year!
Without your continued patronage we would not be able to offer locally tied flies and all the hands on personal advise.

Fishing Report

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted a report, but mostly because there really has not been any changes, other then Table Rock Lake is finally below pool. Which means they could shut down the generators anytime now. (see below) It’s been a couple of months since that has happened! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up so that you can start planning some waded fishing time. When they do shut off, it should be really fantastic!

According to Empire Electric, they intend on lowering Taneycomo starting Sunday thru Monday for repair work at powersite dam. This is all subject to change depending on weather. This means it could very well be wadable!! Time to unpack the dry rotted waders!!!

As of late the most productive pattern has been “Taneycomo Trout Candy” a.k.a Scuds, in dk gray and brown. Try fishing it behind a red San Juan worm. Also Adam’s Ice shrimp have been doing really well. In fact he took another huge order for them from Virginia, I guess quite a few guides out there really think there great.

Also don’t forget our Huge annual “3 day only Sale”, is coming up right after Thanksgiving.

Well they did shut off all the flood gates (again) last week. But they are still running all 4 generators all the time. Table Rock Lake is getting very close to pool and it should not be too long before they will be shutting off the generators. Of course Beaver Lake is still up about 8 feet as it dumps into Table Rock, but barring any heavy rainfalls, the end may be in sight!

I have still been out on the water with guide trips, most everyday. On todays trip we actually landed 1 brown, which is the 1st brown I have seen in a week. Also 2 of the rainbows we landed were dropping eggs. Which it is pretty late in the season for that. I’m not seeing any huge browns, but we have still been catching quite a few fish. Scuds, behind a San Juan or an egg pattern has been doing the best. We also have been fishing some midges and emergers with good responses. Did I mention the weather ? It has been great the last 2 weeks.

The whites have been running again on Table Rock, and the small mouth are biting well too.
Its always an option!
