Water Report

Things seem to be settling down. Water levels crested Wed. at 935.6, an all time high. Beaver slowed its releases, allowing Table Rock to slowly recede. The Corp is still talking about lowering the gates on Sunday, but we are suppose to get some more rain then too.
There are still some die hards out fishing, and most are having great success. I have seen several pictures of some very large browns. Fishing on Table Rock has been really good also.
Access has been somewhat limited but still do-able.

Noon

All ten flood gates are open 4 feet, with a flow of 68,000 cfs. It will probably stay at this level till Table Rock hits 931. Which they are guessing would be Sunday if we get no more rain. It is at 935.45 now. After that the gates will remain open but not as far. Beaver Lake has been dropping and they are going to back it down later today.

8:30 am

Water is still rising, about an 1 inch an hour now. Table Rock Lake is at a new all time record high of 935. Taneycomo is 727 right now, off level is 701.3. Many areas have been evacuated. Right now there are no boats allowed on Taneycomo or Table Rock. Hopefully it will be over soon. Rain totals have exceeded 20 inches, since last week. Right now the water is up to the roof of the pavilion by outlet 2. Will post pictures soon.
For the locals, we have a large parking lot, so if anyone needs to storage or park anything, just call us 335-4655

These pictures were taken yesterday by Dennis Yoshimura. Thanks!

12:30 pm

They have been evacuating the trout from the hatchery and taking them to Neosho. As of this minute, the gates have not opened any farther, but they are predicted to do so soon. They are claiming the water levels will be higher than 2008, when a record was set. And more rain to come starting tonite. Table Rock Lake has come up over 16 feet and is rising 2″ an hour still.
The Bassmaster tournament was also cancelled this morning.

Water update 9 am Tuesday

Water is still rising. We have quite a few followers, so I will try to update often.
Currently water is still rising at 2″ per hour. The flow from the flood gates has increased, and will increase more around noon. Right now (9 am) the bathrooms down by outlet 2 below the dam, are in water. It is in the parking lots. The road (hwy 165) is closed going over the Dam still, from the Chateau to the Showboat, due to a large mud slide yesterday, just to the right of the dam. They are saying the Corp will have to stabilize that before it can be re-opened.
Of course there are stories like this all up and down the White River system.

Fishing Report

2 pm. Well the horns just went off and they are now opening the flood gates, all ten of them. Yes we have had more than our share of rain. Table Rock has bounced up 10’+ and still rising. Not any kind of news we like to hear. I guess the part of the Branson Landing closed earlier today. The houses by Alexander Park on Taneycomo have 3-4 feet of water in them, and now with the gates open it will get even higher.

The B.A.S.S tournament is going on this week. There sure has been a really great bunch of pro-anglers coming in. I’m sure this weather isn’t anything they like to see. Good Luck!

Fishing Report

Fishing has still been very good. Water did run mostly everyday last week during the week, but was off again this Weekend.
Still on occasion during my guide trips, we have been stripping some sculpins off the bottom and landing some larger than normal sized rainbows. But if I had to choose a top pick for the last several days, it would be the Adam’s bug and Ice shrimp. It has been an extremely consistent and effective duo. At times we did need to size down some on tippet. Micro jigs have been good too.
White bass have started running too, and there have been some good reports on crappies.
Definitely time to get out and fish! Stop by for the lastest info. and hot patterns!
Jessalyn and I are headed off the blind, as today is the last day of youth turkey hunting. Hope to see some birds.

Fishing Report

We have really been having some great days on the water. Catching lots of fish even during the couple of colder days. Water levels have been off quite a bit, giving us lots more time to wade.
On Wedsnesdays trip we started off right after the water went off (about 9:30 am). We started off with an indicator, and were catching a lot of fish. A little later we decided to throw some streamer patterns, while stripping a sculpin pattern, we spotted a really nice fish and decided to fish for it. After three hits the fourth one was it! Jim landed a super nice rainbow! He made the comment it was the largest he has caught. Great fish! Great time!
