Fishing Report

We have been having some no generation time on the water lately, mostly early am. I still have been doing the majority of my trips in the boat, drifting. We are still catching larger than normal sized fish. Scuds, San Juan worms, glo balls, and woollie buggers seem to be the ticket, whether your in a boat or on shore behind the hatchery. Some of the fish are not biting as hard as normal, so we are missing quite a few too, I think because of the water being a little murky. We also have been catching a white bass or two, also. I know last week several were caught just below the Dam. On the other end of Taneycomo, on Bull Shoals, walleyes and Stripers have been plentiful.
For those of you who like to follow lake levels, Table Rock Lake is still around 924, summer time pool is 917.

Fishing Report

Last Friday night all the gates were closed. So the flow during this week’s fishing trips (all out of the boat) hasn’t been as deep and fast, with just 4 generators running. On our guided trips our clients have been catching several fish, and still, some really nice sized ones too. We have been going out earlier to try and beat the midday heat, and also doing late afternoon/evening trips.

Another good excuse to fish this weekend, its the annual FREE Fishing Weekend No licenses or trout stamps required.

The kids fishing fair will be happening this Saturday at the Hatchery, and it is always a fun family event.

Hot patterns have been Scuds, gray or brown, and San Juan’s in Red mostly, but bubblegum has worked also. We hardly ever have had to change flies either, it has been so very consistant on these patterns.
